Maestro Monthly

April 2026

Three new features are landing in Maestro this month, the biggest set of additions I've rolled out in a while.

Together, they make three important areas of running a job easier: entering job information, keeping clients updated along the way, and capturing the work happening on the shop floor.

My Job Assistant

You just got off a great call with a client. You've got pages of notes: kitchen, two baths, appliances, finishes, who's painting, target dates. Now comes the part nobody loves: typing all of it into Maestro, room by room, form by form.

Open the job, hit the green My Job Assistant button, and walk through your notes out loud, or paste in a meeting transcript. Maestro pulls it apart into rooms, tasks, materials, detail notes, and target dates, then shows you a review screen before anything saves. Working inside one room? My Room Assistant does the same thing scoped to that room only.

One-click enable from the feature card on any job. Your CEO accepts the AI terms once and it's on for managers and estimators.

Client Update Emails

You meant to send the client an update last Friday. You'll get to it this weekend. By the time you sit down to write it, the project's moved on and you can't quite remember where things stand. So another week goes by.

From the job folder, click Generate Client Update, pick a tone (Professional, Friendly, or Brief), and Maestro drafts a ready-to-send email pulling from the live job: where you are in the schedule, whether you're on track, what's coming next, where materials stand. No internal shop chatter, no costs. Edit, save as a draft, or send right away. Replies come straight back to your regular inbox.

Kiosk Mode

Maestro works great for office staff already on a computer all day. But for shop-floor guys, stopping to type out an email and password every time you mark a task complete or start a timer? That gets old fast.

Set up a kiosk on a shared tablet, touchscreen, or old computer in the shop. Each crew member taps a four-digit PIN to see their tasks, mark them complete, start and stop timers, and check the workflow boards. After a few minutes of inactivity it signs them out automatically and waits for the next person.

About a minute to set up. Sign in as a CEO on the device you want to use, head to Custom Company Settings → Kiosk Devices, flip it on, and add PINs.

Also from April

A lot shipped alongside the headline features:

Refreshed Job & Room pages: cleaner section cards, pill-style room navigation, and a pop-up panel for Questionnaire / Financials / Contracts.

Phone & tablet polish: one-tap timer stop, edit hours from your phone, rebuilt mobile search, and a tablet nav that no longer wraps into a second row.

Better task pop-up: check off subtasks, add or remove attachments, and stop a task being "in progress" without marking it complete.

Multi-column focus on busy boards: cards flow into 2 or 3 side-by-side columns when you focus a milestone with a lot of jobs.

Assignee badges: assignee initials now show as small colored circles (using each person's chosen color) across the workflow boards, schedule, timelines, and gantt views.

Time off notifications: managers get an email when employees request time off; employees get notified on approval or denial.

Open Balances report: fully-paid jobs hide automatically, plus a new original invoice date and age column (green / amber / red pills), sortable columns, and a fresher look.

Internal notes on proposals & invoices: add a private note to any proposal or invoice. Visible to your team only, hidden from the customer and the PDF.

Plus PO job/room editing, hidden weekend columns on timelines, materials column toggles, performance work, and a stack of bug fixes.

That's April. The three new features are rolling out now. If you don't see them yet on your account and want early access, just get in touch. Same goes for anything that's not working right or anything you wish Maestro did. I read every reply.
